BREAKING NEW GROUND WITH THE BIG PIT As the national mining museum for Wales, The Big Pit is truly an inspiration. Based in Blaenafon, the museum was recently awarded the Gulbenkian prize for imagination, innovation and all round excellence. To reflect the ground-breaking attitude of the museum, Haley Sharpe Design created a complex and technically demanding graphic treatment, and Leach were given the task of producing it. As well as extending our capabilities to meet the creative demands of the job by finding realistic solutions to the sort of unavoidable production challenges which go hand in hand with a job of this size, we project managed the entire job to work alongside the needs of the other contractors. We'd like to think that we rose to the task admirably. Our superior colour profiling system ensured that we were able to reflect the specification exactly, including closely matching original images and matching pantone colours across several printing processes and substrates. This resulted in a totally coordinated look across the entire scheme. Barry Hallam of Haley Sharpe Design was exceptionally pleased with our involvement. "The true reality is that graphics specifications frequently change, often mid production. Leach showed the ability to absorb these changes and still maintain exceptionally high standards throughout. Their final invoice also reflected the outline costs with none of the hidden extras we are all so used to confronting." We are proud to have contributed significantly to the success of this outstanding museum by providing an exceptional service exhibiting a greater understanding of the sector. |
